The last hurrah of summer

Daryl and I were surprised when Natalie climbed into the bed of Henry's dump truck by herself.
We were NOT surprised when she started ordering him to give her a ride. Obedient big brother was sure to oblige.

Camping on the River

We did an overnight camping trip at Daryl's parent's river property earlier this month. It was beautiful weather so we decided to haul the kids and the tent trailer up to their property on the Pend Oreille River. The kids had a great time playing in the dirt (of course) and fishing off the dock. Daryl's parents were there all day Saturday, then went home for the evening, but came back in the morning. It was fun.

Sliding down the "ramp" in the trailer.....oh what fun!

(until Natalie bonked her head and starting wailing. drama, drama, drama!)

Knock, knock....anybody home?

Okay, okay, so it's been awhile since I've blogged. But yes, I am still here and wanting very much to post entries. I've just been lazy about the whole thing and haven't done it in a month or so. Oops. I do plan on getting caught up though. So......let's begin!

Labor Day Weekend

It's been a month since our trip, but I'm going to back-blog it. Our tradition Labor Day weekend was spent with our friends, Mitch and Deb, who live just outside Troy, Montana. They have a house on Savage Lake and for the past 5+ years we have been hanging out with them over the holiday weekend. This year was no exception. The weather, although cool, was very pleasant. We didn't swim in the lake, but Henry and Mitch and Daddy went for a paddle boat ride. Henry also had his first fishing experience. He loved it. He and Mitch stood at the end of the dock and just kept casting away. Henry actually caught a fish but was so excited about that he threw it back before we could even see it. I guess we will take his and Mitch's word for it that it really did happen :)
