Happy Birthday to me!

I had a great 38th birthday this year, believe it or not. Since Henry's birthday is only 3 days from mine, I've accepted the fact that mine doesn't really count anymore since all the attention will be on him. I am okay with that though, really. But my birthday this year was very fulfilling, to my surprise. I had friends call me in the morning to wish me a happy birthday and I was showered with gifts from family, friends and neighbors. My friend, Ania, even baked me a chocolate birthday cake (from scratch). It was wonderful. Thank you all so much for thinking of me.

I have signed up to do the Valley Girl Triathlon again this year. The race is this Sunday, July 13th. So I've been cramming in some last minute training. I train the same way I study....I CRAM! Not the best way, I know, but that's what I have time for right now. So on my birthday I woke up early and did a 2 mile run. Then in the afternoon I rode my bike to the community college (5 miles) to swim. I swam about 3/4 of a mile, and then afterwards I had my pilates class. It was like doing a mini reverse triathlon. By the end of the day, I was beat. I did not have the energy to ride my bike back home. But that's okay because Daryl and the kids picked my up at the college and took me out to dinner at the old Red Robin. It was a lot of fun. What a great birthday.
